Tee it Up for Competition…

We have several opportunities for our participants of all skill levels. Just getting started in competition golf or want to learn more about team formats? Check out our chapter’s PGA Jr. League for team-based competition. Looking for individual competition? Get involved in our annual Club Championship and the Race to the First Tee — Fort Worth Cup! Our Race to the Cup series is First Tee — Fort Worth’s own tournament circuit in which participant’s earn points each tournament to see who will compete in the final event of the year! Outside of these opportunities, we also have occasional qualifying events for team competitions versus First Tee chapters around the state like our Battle of the Boot, I-20 and I-45 Cups!

Race to the Cup!

Tournament golf for all! Now in it’s third year, participants in the Race to the Cup Series will compete in stroke-play competitions for points to compete in the Race to the Cup Championship at the end of 2022! Top points earners will also qualify for a spot in the Ryder Cup-style event, the Cowtown Showdown, held in January following the Cup Championship.

PGA Jr. League

Sponsored by the PGA of America, PGA Jr. League brings friends, families, and communities together through the game of golf by offering team-based, competition golf for kids of all ages and skill levels. First Tee — Fort Worth is proud to host its own section of PGA Jr. League captained by our very own PGA member, Coach Charleton Dechert.

Mystery Match

Participants team up with adults to compete in this event with a twist! What is the format? It’s a mystery! We hope this can become an annual event where the format changes from year to year! This year’s inaugural event will be a 9-hole event and has been rescheduled for February 26, 2022 at Texas Golf Center! There will be a shotgun start at 3:00PM and cost is $10 per person.

Battle of the Boot

Congrats to our winning First Tee – Fort Worth Team! Our participants defended possession of the Boot against a challenging First Tee – Greater Dallas team in a series of Match Play matches on October 9th, 2021!

Club Championship

This annual tournament is an individual stroke-play event is played over two days with girls and boys divisions for ages 7-10, 11-13, and 14-18. The 7-10 and 11-13 divisions will compete in 9-hole rounds each day, while the 14-18 divisions will play 18-hole rounds each day.

FWJGA Boys & Girls Championship

Each year, the Fort Worth Junior Golf Association conducts a golf tournament for young golfers who reside in the service areas of First Tee — Fort Worth: all of Tarrant, Johnson, Hood, Parker counties, and the portion of the City of Fort Worth that lies within Denton County. Made possible through generous partnerships with the City of Fort Worth and its surrounding country clubs, this tournament is offered FREE to its participants ages 7-18 each year! I-20 Cup

This team competition features matches between First Tee – Fort Worth and First Tee – Longview participants! Participants for the First Tee – Fort Worth team are selected based on past tournament scores, overall involvement in First Tee, and their ability to represent the values of First Tee – Fort Worth!

Congrats to our winning First Tee – Fort Worth team for bringing home the Cup on November 6-7, 2021!
