The Jordan Spieth Family Foundation to Fund Youth Golf Program for Military Families
Youth of current, veteran and reservist military members to have access to First Tee - Fort Worth’s programming completely free of charge.
FORT WORTH, Texas (May 28, 2019) – The Jordan Spieth Family Foundation has made a financial commitment to First Tee - Fort Worth to support involvement of military families in their signature Life Skills Experience program. The Foundation will provide multiple installments of the grant over a four-year period to First Tee - Fort Worth, that allows children of active military members, veterans and reservists to attend First Tee’s Life Skills Experience golf classes, camps and leagues. Military families residing within Tarrant, Johnson, Parker and Hood counties will benefit from the initiative. The military initiative is part of a larger commitment the Foundation has made to The First Tee of Fort Worth, one of the Foundation’s largest to date. “The opportunity to serve two of our mission pillars with one grant is very significant to our family,” said Annie Spieth. “We know first-hand the great benefits that the First Tee program has on not only the youth involved, but the entire family unit. These military families have earned our utmost respect and we are truly honored to show them our gratitude thorough this initiative with the Fort Worth chapter.” “We are extremely excited and pleased to partner with the Jordan Spieth Family Foundation to build on our long-standing commitment to provide military families full access to our program,” said Kevin Long, Executive Director of First Tee - Fort Worth. “The mission of honoring families who choose to serve is central to both First Tee and the Jordan Spieth Family Foundation.” The additional funding from the grant will support two other key initiatives currently underway by First Tee - Fort Worth; a transportation outreach program to help bridge the Morningside and Northside Communities of Fort Worth to First Tee - Fort Worth’s Briscoe and Rockwood Program Locations and a capital gift towards the construction of the Ben Hogan Learning Center at Squaw Creek Golf Course in Willow Park.
